AusPAnet

AusPAnet is a national online network which aims to build knowledge and capacity in the physical activity workforce. It provides a fortnightly newsletter with updates on activities and research relevant to physical activity. AusPAnet is a joint initiative of the Heart Foundation and Sydney University (Centre for Physical Activity and Health).

Australasian Child and Adolescent Obesity Research Network (ACAORN)

ACAORN fosters and coordinates research collaboration among Australian and New Zealand child and adolescent obesity research groups to identify key research questions and seek funding to address these with high quality research. The website provides further information about the network and its 5 streams as well as links to publications, measurement tools and lists of current obesity studies in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet

Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet aims to be a 'one stop shop' for information and resources relevant to Indigenous health. The website hosts 'yarning places' (electronic networks) to encourage sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences. The website is a rich resource of health data, evidence, resources, publications and more, relevant to a range of chronic conditions and infectious diseases.

Obesity Policy Coalition

The Obesity Policy Coalition aims to influence change in policy and regulation that will support obesity prevention, particularly in children. The coalition was established in 2006 by Cancer Council Victoria, Diabetes Australia - Victoria, VicHealth and Deakin University.

Active Living Research - Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Active Living Research, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, aims to support research to examine how environments and policies influence active living for children and their families. The website has an excellent database of tools and measures regarding active living, especially observational measures of the environment as it relates to physical activity.

The Parents' Jury

The Parents Jury is an online network of parents, grandparents and guardians, who are interested in improving the food and physical activity environments of Australian children. The website features infromation about current campaigns, discussion forums and updates on relevant media coverage.

Australia and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS)

The Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (formerly known as the Australasian Society for the Study of Obesity  or ASSO) is a scientific organisation of medical practitioners, dietitians, scientists and other health care professionals interested in obesity research, treatment or public health initiatives directed at the prevention of obesity. The site contains information about upcoming conferences and awards as well as general statistics and information about obesity in Australia and New Zealand.

National Healthy School Canteens

The National Healthy School Canteens Project (NHSCP) is part of the Australian Better Health Initiative (ABHI) implementation plan. The NHSCP will assist nationwide school canteens to provide healthy food choices, and as a consequence, promote good health through healthy eating.
