2009 Evidence Summaries

Development

Site Visits for the 2009 Evidence Summaries

Site visits were conducted in March-June 2009 to engage with decision-makers involved with obesity prevention and to seek advice on the scope and development of evidence summaries. These visits were attended by public health nutritionists, epidemiologists, health promotion practitioners, state government policymakers and planners and community intervention planning and implementation teams. Issues for discussion included:

  • Types of programs underway
  • Types of decisions being made
  • Processes currently used to inform decision-making

This information was used to help begin to construct answerable questions which will provide the basis of evidence summaries. Preferred format and structure of evidence summaries was also discussed.

Next steps

1. Finalise the answerable questions in consultation with sites.
2. Draft, test and refine evidence summaries with sites and CO-OPS network (May-June 2009)
3. Post evidence summaries on CO-OPS website
4. Develop a system for sharing and using evidence summaries
